NEWS FROM THE 6th GRADE
In the sixth grade at Ava Middle School many things have happened and still are going to happen. This year there were four students chosen by our science teacher, Mrs. Bradshaw, in the first quarter. Every Monday, the two boys and two girls gather fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade paper recycling. They also do across the street in Mrs. Johnson’s room, the computer lab, ISS, the adminstrator’s office and enrichment. Every Friday, they drop it off at the “goose.” Every Wednesday, Missouri Extension Campus health instructor, Mrs. Rebecca, come into science and tells us tips about personal hygiene and healthy eating habits. In Math, we have done greatest comon factors, least common multiples, geometry, decimals, fractions, mean, median, mode, range measuring length and rounding. We also have an extra geometry class to catch up from snow days. In Science we have covered from enviromental issues to states of matter. In Social Studies we have done Australopithicines on the savannahs of Africa, Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, China and Mesoamerica. We have had many long and tiring IDMS tests as it most likely seems to the students. The school lunch is still the same, old, funky lunch it has always been. Thanks to Mrs. Eggleston, Mrs. Andrus, Mrs. Bradshaw, Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Clinkingbeard all of the students of sixth grade are ready for the dreaded MAP test.
