Kiwanis Club of Ava is proud to announce that the club received the Distinguished Club Award at the Mid Winter Conference held in Springfield on Feb. 25-27.
The award is in recognition of meeting the criteria from the district and is awarded for the Kiwanis year Oct. 1, 2009-Sept. 30, 2010.
Some of the requirements include the following: Attending District Conferences and Conventions, president and secretary must attend a Club Leadership Education event, club must participate in at least six service projects per year as well as others.
This makes the third year that the club has earned this award and is one of only three in this district to do so.
Club members would like to publicly thank every member of our club who worked to help make it possible and also the general public who supports their events.
