Ava General Baptist wk. 23

So, how’s your prayer life?  Bro. Oren’s messages all month have reminded us how important prayer is.  This week’s scripture was from John 14: 1-14. Jesus’ words still speak to us today.  Do not let your hearts be troubled but trust in God and trust in Jesus.  The way to the Father is through his son Jesus.   Jesus set the path for us to follow and one day He will come for us so we need to have a relationship with Him.   One of those ways is to pray in his name and Jesus tells us whatever we ask in His name and will, it will be done.   But remember as Bro. Oren pointed out that whoever prays in God’s name we must always do good works in God’s name.  We can’t ask Him to answer prayer when we are not walking a godly life and following His will.

As you are in prayer this week remember all those who have shared needs in their lives.  Some are ill and in the hospital or recovering from surgery or falls.  We know Jesus knows each need.  Remember Eldon Brooks, Betty Kennedy, Bill Whitaker, Kelsey Stover and Bill Bolding to mention a few.  Pray for our country, our community and our church family.

Spring is in the air and next Sunday we will begin practice for our Easter musical presentation.   Anyone who wants to sing with us we encourage you to come on Sunday nights at 5 p.m.  We need your help please.  Come lift your voice as a gift to God.

Bible study is going strong on Wednesday nights at 7p.m.  Please come and experience learning Gods message through his Word.

The youth’s Pizza Hut fundraiser was a huge success and we appreciate all those who worked and ate pizza for a great cause.  Also, we appreciate everyone who worked in the kitchen and helped serve at our valentine dinner last Sunday.  God Bless you.

We invite you to join in worship services and Sunday school with us.  Look us up on the web at www.avageneralbaptist.org and learn about our mission to serve the Lord and help others come to know him.

Bro. Oren reminded us Sunday that we are powerless without prayer.  Trust in God and carry on his message to others that don’t know Him.   See you Sunday! God Bless.
