Sandy Church News wk. 22

(Last Week’s News)

We had many visitors, family and friends of Pastor Neal, come to surprise him celebrating his 10th year as Pastor.  He greeted them with “good morning, so glad you are here”.  He was surely surprised so LeaAnn, Mom and Dad did a good job.

Many prayer requests were shared.  Among those were Joe Mason, Bob Siler and Jerry Pitts.

Happy birthday was sung to Judy Wilson.  She is our Church Clerk and does all the bookkeeping, which is a responsible position and Judy does an excellent job.  Judy, we do appreciate you.  Testimonies were shared about our dear Lord.

Josh Dalton prayed the offertory prayer as we gave our tithes and offerings.

Pastor Neal read from Luke 2, Jesus at 12 years old with the doctors of the law at the feast of the Passover.  “I must be about my father’s business” were his first words and “it is finished” were his last words.

We were dismissed by Rick Crum, who also asked the blessing on our fellowship dinner.  We enjoyed an abundance of food, which was followed by music with LeaAnn and Erin Crum, Martin Hodges and Danny and Connie Johnson.

At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal prayed followed by singing.

Colten Harris sang and he did a great job.  Several testimonies were shared about how good God is to us.  Pastor Neal read Hebrews 6.  We closed with prayer time at the altar.

Among our prayer requests were Joe Mason, Zella Menzies, Phillip McFarlin, Samantha and others.  Rhonda Dobbs prayed this prayer.

Brad Siler prayed the offertory prayer as we worshipped with our tithes and offerings.

Happy anniversary was sung to Van and Trish Menzies.  We were happy to have Cody with us.

A time of praises and testimonies were shared.  The spirit of the Lord was so good.

It was good to have Phillip and Judy McFarlin with us and also Kristen and Katie too.  Pastor Neal asked Phillip to cross his name out of our book on the altar.  We all rejoiced with Clay to have his family with him in church today.  Do please come back.

Pastor Neal read from Luke 3, John’s preaching of repentance and his testimony of Christ.

Prayer requests were given for Scott Nall, Jeff and Janet Dalton, Bob Siler and McCoy Humbyrd, who was born Wednesday, February 16th to Aaron and Jenin Humbyrd and big sister, Makinna.  His great-grandparents are Doyle and Frances Humbyrd and Peggy Miller and grandparents are Stan and Kim Humbyrd.  He is the fourth generation of Humbyrd’s in our church family.  He is also the grandson of Mark and Sonya Wendler of Ava.

Come and worship with us.  We have Tuesday night prayer meeting where we truly enjoy the presence of the Lord.  Sister Freeda Holt was with us Tuesday night.  She was a pastor of our church.  We are so glad to have her with us.  Wednesday at 7 p.m. is Bible Study by Pastor Neal from the book of Genesis.
