Nancie Ann Waters passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, a few days after suffering a severe stroke.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Salisbury, 31, and James Bower, 19, and her sister, Terry Dye, all of Ava.
Born in Van Nuys, Calif., in May 1960, she and her family moved to the area in 2002. She was known among many of Ava’s youth simply as “Mom” and was always trying to help them. She will be truly missed.
