It finally happened. I heard the chirpers (peepers) as I drove home last Friday afternoon. That’s always the first sign that tells me spring is truly just around the corner. I love to hear the little fellows sing and peep telling us that all is right with the world.
The snow and ice are all melted and we got to have church again on top of our mountain. We had notheat until a couple of nice guys fixed the problem. We appreciate Donald and Roger. The Sunday school teachers still had Valentines and candy for the kids.
We had several special songs. The youth sang with Esther Johnson at the piano; Abby and Sarah Hampton sang with Grace Mitchell helping them; Bud, Irene and Jon Mitchell sang; Gracie Williams sang one and Jon Mitchell sang.
Donald preached his sermon based on farmers having holes in their fences and cows get out. Until you fix your fence it doesn’t do any good to run your cows back in because they will just get back out. In our Christian lives it is the same way. We have to keep all the holes fixed and our life in order, or sin and Satan can just keep walking right in and out of our life.
We had several of our congregation missing Sunday. I hope they weren’t sick. We would love to have you there each and every service.
Larry Hutchinson has been sick, but was able to be back in church Sunday night. We sure miss himĀ when he isn’t able to be in church with us.
I got to enjoy my grandkids several times this week. I have used my new camcorder to capture a few moments of each of them. Sunday I taped Braxton and Alexis outside with the puppy dogs. There is such joy in the little things when it comes to grandkids. I also taped Rilee and Logan playing my piano, do you think they will take after grandma? Oh, who knows.
Well, enough rambling. I hope you have someone in your life to help you appreciate the little things. Remember God is always there to help you fix the holes in the fences in your life, but you have to ask! Have a great week.
