Barbara Ilene Barnes, 57 years, passed to heaven on Feb. 21, 2011 at Bruner, Mo., with her family by her side.
Barbara was born Dec. 5, 1953 in Springfield, Mo., to J.D. and Verneta (Hall) Harris.
Barbara was a resident of the Ava community for several years. On Oct. 25, 1986 Barbara and Marvin Barnes were united in marriage in Gulfport, Miss.
Barbara had worked for several years with Rawlings Sporting Goods in Ava. Then she became a waitress at Hutch’s Café, and, later she helped her husband, Marvin, in his business as a bookkeeper.
She was a Christian and had attended the Faith Rock Church and Ava Assembly of God in Ava. Her hobbies included traveling, playing cards with family and visiting her friends and family. Her favorite time was being with her granddaughters and watching them play sports.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Horace and Hazel Hall; her step-father, Foster Breecher; her husband, Marvin Barnes; and a grandson, Russell Keith Graham.
Barbara is survived by daughter, Carly and Randy Patterson, Bruner, Mo.; two granddaughters, Nikkie Graham and Harley Patterson; one brother, Norman L. Harris, Ava, Mo.; four nieces; several great nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Barbara will be Thursday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. at the Dyer Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 10 a.m. to service time in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Officiating will be Rev. Buddy Boyd.
