New Hope Freewill Baptist Church wk. 21

During Sunday morning services we had 16 people attend. We started out the morning by taking our prayer reqests to the Lord and then we dismissed to our Sunday school classes. After Sunday school the kids sang and took up the penny march. After the penny march Sis. Danita did a special for us. We also had testimonies and sang praises. Bro. Scott delivered our morning message from the book of I Thess. 1:6-10, “Growing In The Knowledge of the Word of God.” In these verses and this first chapter of this book Paul writes a letter praising the Thessalonians on their growth and thanking god for their love and the example they have set “to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.” We should always keep that in mind as Christians worship. Do we set a good or bad example to others? We should always be pressing towards the mark, comfortable with what we have, but not with who we are. Our salvation can only be secured through our obediance to God.

We would also liketo say how sorry we are to the church in Diggins that burned down over this last weekend. Our prayers are with the spiritual leaders and the congregation of that church and for a speedy rebuilding of God’s house.

Evening brought 19 attending services with us. We had a lot of our own members out due to sickness and our prayers are with them. We had a long list of prayer requests and then joined together and sang songs. Bro. Lyndon, Larry, Mike and Scott and Sis. Dee Dee and Aloma sang a special for us. Then Bro. Larry, Sis. Virginia and Sis. Aloma sang and we also had two specials sung by Sis. Juanita and Bro. Marshall. Our evening message was delivered by Bro. Scott in a sort of observance of the Valentine’s Day hype. His sermon came from the book of  John 3:14-18 “True Love.” For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Aren’t you all glad that someone loved us that much?

We want to invite all to come and worship and praise God with us. Service times are Wednesday Bible study at 7 p.m., Sunday school at 10 a.m., morning worship  at 11 a.m. and evening worship at 7 p.m. We hope all have a blessed week.
