Gentry News wk. 21

Opening prayer was given by Joie Welker to start off our Sunday morning service.

After congregational singing, we went to our Sunday school classes. Our lesson was “This Is My Beloved” out of Mark 9:2-13. The transfiguration was the topic. Peter, James and John were priviledged to witness this while on the Holy Mount. Christ raiment became shining, His face shone as the sun, and His clothing became whiter than snow. God the Father spoke from Heaven telling us that Christ is indeed the true one sent from God.

Bro. Riley’s text was taken from Judges 6:11-34. Because of Israel’s evil doings in the sight of the Lord, they were delivered in the hands of the Midiantites. Then Isarael cried to the Lord. The Lord sent an angel unto Gideon and used him to save Israel. God is always in control and there for us when we call upon Him.

Wednesday night choir practice is at 6 p.m. with a video that goes along with the study.

Friday, February 18 at 7 p.m. is the Friday Night Singing at Dogwood Nazarene Church. Gentry will be joining them in fellowship.

The Valentine dinner is rescheduled for Saturday night, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. at the church with food, games and a lot of good fellowship. Bring a dish.

Sunday evening service opened with congregational singing. Many prayer requests were mentioned and good testimonies.

Bro. Hall’s brought forth the message. His text was from Matthew, chapters 5,6 and 7. The only narrow way is through the blood of Jesus Christ. Three simple words, prayer for our daily bread, seek God will give us what we have need of if you see first the kingdom, when we are serving the Lord He will provide and enter, we enter the kingdom through new birth. The kingdom of God is at hand.

Every one is welcome at Gentry. We have nursery for morning service, Sunday school at 10 a.m. and church at 11 a.m. and evening service at 6 p.m.

May God bless.
