Sandy Church News wk. 19

Our prayer chain went around on Friday for Lisa Mitchell.  We are praying for Lisa and her family.  Other prayer requests were for Brandon Murriel, Jeff Dalton, Joe Mason, Faye Humbyrd, Mary Lou Hodges, Larry Hampton, Carol Gott and Rick Crum’s brothers, Roger and Keith.  Kevin Hodges prayed this prayer.  We are also praying for the families of Eddie Turner and Weldon Sanders.
Happy anniversary was sung to Pastor Neal.  LeaAnn was with her mother.  Mary Lou was coming home after being in the hospital for two days.
Brad Siler prayed the offertory prayer as he and Kevin Hodges received our Lord’s tithes and offerings with Elane Crum at the piano.
Testimonies were shared by several.  Pastor Neal prayed and read from Luke 2 and Hebrews 10—the naming of Jesus, our savior, meaning salvation.
We were dismissed in prayer by Harold Menzies.
At 5 p.m., we met for our annual business meeting.  Brad Siler prayed as we began and Pastor Neal read from Acts 6.  He shared how we need to balance all the needs of ministry to take care of our community.  Pastor Neal received a unanimous vote.  Doyle Humbyrd remained our Sunday School Superintendent, Judy Wilson remained our Clerk and Treasurer, Mary Lou Hodges as our Sunday School Secretary, our children church directors are Patty Siler and Kim Humbyrd.  Juanita Menzies does the birthday and anniversary cards.  All Sunday school teachers remained the same with the Adult teacher being Juanita Menzies, Young Adult teacher is Rick Crum, High School teachers are Mary Lou Hodges and LeaAnn Crum, and Primary teachers are Stan and Kim Humbyrd.
Letters of good standing were approved for ministers, Pastor Neal Crum and Frances Humbyrd, and deacons, Stan Humbyrd and Brad Siler, with Bob Siler as honorary.
Delegates to the White River Association are Rick and Elane Crum, Billy Hodges and Juanita Menzies.
The 6 p.m. service began with prayer by Pastor Neal followed by singing.  Van Menzies was the speaker.  He asked us, “How much confidence do you have in your prayer life”?  He read from 1 Chronicles 4:9, Jabez’s prayer and how God granted his request.  What about us do we pray for the names in our book on the altar and are we praying for revival?
Next Sunday is our Food Harvest collection.  The 2nd Sunday is our monthly fellowship dinner and the 3rd Sunday we will do a service at the Heart of the Hills Healthcare facility at 2 p.m.
Come and worship with us.  You are always welcome.
