Our congregation was missing a very important member this past Lord’s Day, our Sunday school superintendent, Tom Bentley, went through a heart attack and is now recovering and getting his strength back. He seems to be doing very well. Please join us in thanking the Lord for his swift and complete recovery.
Our morning message was “Blind Wisdom” from the text of II Chronicles 8:11 in which Solomon, knowing it was wrong of him to take wives of foreign nations chose to do so for political gain, and in so doing introduced idolatrous worship to the nation he was supposed to keep sanctified to God. To know the right thing to do and not do it is to disregard the will of God.
Our evening message was “The God Of This Age” from the text of II Corinthians 4:1-9, with an emphasis on the deceitfulness of our adversary, in this world and the fact that he has been, “overcome by the Blood of the Lamb.”
We still have a seat for any who will come and worship the Lord with us. By the way, Feb. 13 is “Friend Day” at Oak Grove. Let me invite you to come, join us in praise to the King. (You can come as my friend!)
