New Hope Freewill Baptist Church wk. 19

During Wednesday night Bible study we had eight attend services. We have been learning about ways to conduct ourselves in every day life in order to be more pleasing to God, in ways civilly, business, personal relationships, socially and with family. We had a good discussion.
During Sunday morning services we had 15 attend. We took our prayer requests before the Lord and then dismissed to our Sunday school classes. After Sunday school the children sang a couple of songs and then held their penny march. The congregation then sang songs together before the hearing of the word. Bro. Scott brought forth an important message from I Corinthians 15:50-58, “Work For The Lord Is Not In Vain.” This scripture brings questions we must ask ourselves. Do we grumble about helping others? Do we fall short when it comes down to witnessing to others? Do we do work at our church with fundraisers or whatever needs our churches have with the right heart? Do we do these things to please man? Ourselves? God? Verse 58 reads, “Therefore my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
After service we took communion after reading some scripture. We sang a hymn and then went our separate ways for the afternoon.
Before our evening services we had our monthly business meeting. We have some exciting things coming soon like a revival in May, but the most wonderful things is the Lord blessed us with a new member! So, we just want to say, Bro. Duff, we look forward to serving the Lord by your side for many years to come and welcome you with open arms into our family!
While waiting for evening services to start, Mallory Ludwig and Abbey Eaves sang songs for us. It was a real treat to hear their sweet little voice sing praise while Bro. Larry played guitar for them.
We had 31 attend evening services. We started out with singing songs. We had specials sang by Sis. Lena, Sis. Gloria, New Hope and Bro. Marvin. God blessed with allowing Bro. Marvin Graham to be our guest evangelist for the evening and for the bringing of the word. The scripture for the evening was brought from the book of Acts 4:29-31 and Acts 8:14-21. These scriptures talk about the receiving of the Holy Ghost, and having enough boldness to speak and spread the word of God in truth! These things can happen for us by only two ways believing and praying. We can move mountains and receive gifts by simply uniting together, humbling our hearts and believing in what we are praying for.
Our church would like to extend our appreciation to Bro. Marvin for bringing a powerful message to us and we also appreciate our visitors for attending services at our little church. Our worship times are as follows: Wednesday Bible discussion at 7 p.m., Sunday school at 10 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m. and evening worship at 7 p.m. Our pastor, Bro. Scott Eaves can be reached at 543-3617 or 543-3437. If we can leave you with one thing this week just know that the grace of God is sufficient for all! Have a blessed week!
