I still haven’t made any snow ice cream and since I’m not a big fan of ice cream, snow or otherwise, I haven’t missed it. We do have plenty of snow left if the grandkids decide they want some so everything is good.
After church Sunday we joined our daughter, Alicia, and her family for a pot of chili and then since the side roads were thawed out a little we decided to visit my folks, Willie and Donna Sloan for a little while Sunday afternoon. They are both feeling a lot better and I am very thankful. They had the bug that was going around and both were very sick with it. Bob and I had it too about the same time and then the snow hit so we haven’t been there for a few weeks. I am a coward about driving on the snow. I wish it didn’t bother me, but it does, so I try to stay off the roads if there is a snowflake anywhere around.
The baby shower for Brooke McHaffie was held as scheduled last Saturday afternoon and Vicki Burkhart, Brooke’s mom said they received lots of useful and nice things for the twin boys Brooke and Dustin are expecting in a few weeks. Vicki said she really appreciated everyone who made the effort to get out in the snow to attend the shower. They will have a lot of help from older sister, Taylor, and big brother, Trent. It is truly a double blessing. I love twins!
There will be basketball with Lutie at Bradleyville Friday night, Feb. 11. Bradleyville Homecoming will be Saturday, Feb. 12 starting at 2 p.m. with a game with Koshkonong.
New Mansion Church is having a 50′s themed Valentine Party on Sunday, February 13 starting at 6 p.m. Hamburgers and French fries will be served, then there will be a Newlywed Game for the adults, a scavenger hunt for the teens, a word search and exchange of valentines for the youth. Everyone is welcome for food and fellowship.
