Caney Church News wk. 18

January 19 – We came together Wednesday night at Caney Church by singing. Bro. Bill Austin began service by taking prayer requests. Bro. Jeff Shipley led in prayer. Bro. Bill read James 2:14-18, 4:1-3, 15-17 and 13-16. Faith is essential, but we need to work for the Lord, show your faith by your works. It is good to come together to study the word and praise the Lord. Come be with us. The Lord always blesses.
One thing we know for sure, we will never learn or understand it all. What we know is good. We learn so much hearing others ideas and explanations.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests were taken and Sis. Melba Austin led our hearts in prayer. Jack read Hebrews 10:19-25 for our devotion. Elsie Combs, Vanessa Mills, Janice Lafferty, Jeff Shipley, Charlotte Roberts and Melissa Harmon all gave testimonies after Sunday school.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Melissa Harmon and Charlotte Roberts sang special music. Pastor Bill spoke this morning from Psalms 34, Joshua 24:13-14. We should praise the Lord through bad and difficult times as well as good. God has blessed us more than we deserve, even if He never does anything else for us, we know Jesus died for us and Heaven is waiting for those that believe.
Sunday evening service began with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley welcomed everyone. Prayer requests were taken. We have many concerns that the Lord will take care of. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Charlotte Roberts gave a testimony. Bro. Jim Lafferty was the speaker. Sunday evening he brought his message from John 3:39-47, 6:35. We need to testify of Christ to the people around us no matter the ridicule. Do not be surprised when they don’t listen, but you won’t be held accountable. Don’t give up. Keep on witnessing, you’ll be blessed.
You are welcome at Caney. Come and be with us. We are a Bible believing church.
