Darlene and Sally Sorensen sang a special song Sunday morning before Pastor Bob Sorensen brought a message on the rapture he called, “Are You Ready For The Take-Off?”
At any moment the call could come, the Lord Jesus will descend from heaven with a shout, those who sleep in Jesus will rise from their graves and those believers who are alive and remain on the earth will be caught up to be with the Lord.
The rapture will be sudden. There will not be any other warning than what we have already received. It will happen in a twinkling of the eye with no time to make any additional preparations when the call comes. Over and over the scriptures warn us not to count on tomorrow. Today is the day of salvation.
For some people this will be a solemn time. All who have not accepted Jesus as Lord will be left behind. Two may be walking together, one will be taken and the other left behind. Husbands and wives, parents and children, and friends will be separated never to see each other again. Those who are left behind will see the beginning of the Great Tribulation. There will be wars, scorching heat, starvation, purging, death, and torments as never before seen upon the earth.
There will be many who thought that they were safe in their religions, who will be left behind. The Bible says that there is only one way of salvation. Jesus told Nicodemus, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” The writer of Acts said that “there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Jesus told his disciples, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
For the believers that have been caught up there will be a happy reunion with the saints that have gone before us. The Bible promises eternal blessings in a place with no death, with no pain or sorrow, and with no sin. There is mention made about streets of gold, heavenly mansions, and the presence of the Lord.
Sadly there are people sitting in church services who are not ready. Some plan to get ready, but delay doing so. Do not wait, because His coming could be very soon. Nothing more has to transpire before the Lord comes. The Bible says, “And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, unto the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.”
