Gentry Church wk. 17

Opening prayer for the start of our Sunday morning service was led by Joey Welker.
Our Sunday school lesson was on “Reassurance For God’s People” for Christians to keep moving on our journey that is set by our God. We need constant assurance that He is walking beside us and in total charge so we turn to the only one who can do all things.
Many prayer requests were brought before the church and sent up to our Heavenly Father.
Birthday wishes went out to Dana Young.
The third Friday night singing January 21 is at Gentry Church at 7 p.m. We will have snacks afterwards. Everyone is invited to join us.
Sunday, January 23 is our Fourth Sunday Singing at Gentry at 2 p.m. Lunch will be served at church before the singing.
Praise reports given for Faye Allen’s sister, Mae Brock, continues to improve greatly from her heart surgery.
Everyone is invited to our 7 p.m. Wednesday night series, called “That The World May Know.” We are so thankful for our new installed screen to show them on.
Our sympathy goes out to the Dorsey Huffman family.
Pastor Riley Hall’s message was from Psalms 8:3-9.
God ordained our moon and stars and God holds it all today, all of God’s creation were made for man. The important purpose of our ministry in life is to reach man about salvation.
Our special song for the evening service was by the Gentry Singers and some good testimonies were given.
Bro. Hall’s evening message was taken from Luke 14:25-33, “Holiness And What It Costs.” If we are going through things with God, we have to count the cost. We have to give God everything.
What does it cost to be holy? Love not the world, we are constantly being pulled into the worldly standards. God’s standard is in the Holy Bible. Stay in the word and we have to build a good foundation for our family. It’s God’s will for us to be holy and surrender all.
Our invitation is always open to join us at Gentry Church. May God bless!
