Faith Rock Church wk. 17

A very damp, chilly day here in Ava today as we are quilting here at church today. We just got back from eating out for our lunch. There is seven of us here today working. We’ve had several things we came together and prayed about. We have a beautiful quilt set up to do today. I heard on the news about several fires in Springfield and we wish we could send our quilts to those that need them there, but only those people who let us know about what people need can we help with quilts.
We had a good service Sunday. Sis. Betty Hesterlee did a great job. It was her last Sunday and we appreciate the months Sis. Betty pastored until we got the new pastor. Bro. Benny and Sis. Loretta Dewitt are now our new pastors. We appreciate being able to get people to pastor, who are truly called of God to minister.
Sis. Marie Long who was one of our old time Pentecostal preachers has now gone on to be with the Lord. I appreciate all the years she has spent leading people to the Lord and preaching the word anywhere she was asked to preach. Her funeral is Wednesday, January 19 at 2 p.m. I know its too late for anyone reading this to go to her funeral, but someone may not know until the paper came out. Our thoughts and prayers are with her son, George and family. I believe Sis. Betty Hesterlee will preach the service and Bro. Gary and Bevy Moore will be singing and Sis. Linda Roberts.
I heard yesterday that Dorsey Huffman has passed away after a long illness. We’ve known him and Doyne for many years. We will be praying for her and their son Friday and the family as he is laid to rest.
I haven’t heard how Bro. Jerry and Sis. Glenda’s new great grandbaby and mother are doing after a very difficult delivery. I believe the baby was a little boy and that the baby and Jasmine are doing pretty well and we thank God for all the prayers that were said on their behalf Sunday.
We would like to invite anyone who doesn’t have a church home to come and help us welcome in our new pastors here at Faith Rock.
I was glad to read River Stillwood’s item in last weeks paper. We that read her item
s miss knowing how she’s doing. She’s sounding better all the time.
