Eastern Gate and Around the Mountain wk. 17

Hello everyone. Hope you had a wonderful week. God kept us safe through the bad weather and even gave us a warm place to come home to. When the temperature is down to 0. I really am thankful for a warm house. We did cancel church Wednesday night because of the cold. Sunday, Jon Mitchell preached for us. I always enjoy hearing him. He talked about everyone has a job to do for God. He also said that you know the feeling you felt when you got saved and if you haven’t felt that feeling then you need to start talking to God and make things right.
Sunday night our youth had a program on Christian martyrs. It was youth night. Kyle and Sarah Hampton led congregational singing and then the youth read stories about people who gave their lives for Christ. We had a good meal and cake in celebration of birthdays for Wanda Hutchinson, Sarah, Abbey and Courtney.
Saturday we had a Swearengin Christmas dinner at our house. We had tables full of good food and lots of family, around 43 in all. Those attending were Bud, Francis and some of their family; Jerry and Donna Loveland and part of their family; Carolyn Schneider and her family and my kids and grandkids. It is always good to get together and visit.
Sometimes we don’t see each other as often as we would like because everyone gets so busy leading their own lives.
I’ll close for this week with stay warm and spend a little time this winter reconnecting with family and friends. Smile, God loves you!
