Caney Church News wk. 17

January 16 – Sunday school at Caney began with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests were taken. Bro. Bill Shipley led our hearts in prayer. Jack read I Kings 8:33-40 for our devotional. After Sunday school, happy birthday was sung to Vanessa Mills. God bless her. She is a blessing to our church. Our little ones sang for us. They were led by Sis. Tracy Shipley. They are a real blessing. Those giving testimonies were Jim Lafferty, Jeff Shipley, Elsie Combs and Janice Lafferty.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Those singing specials were Melissa Harmon, Jimmy Lafferty and Laurena Mitchell. Pastor Bill Austin spoke from Luke 15:1-32. Lets go out and find those that need the Lord and tell them of Christ. Pastor asked the question, If you knew that the next ten people you talked to would be saved, who would you talk to? He has challenged Caney Church people to bring at least one to Christ this year.
Sunday evening service began with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley opened service by taking prayer requests. Bro. Jim Lafferty led our hearts in prayer. Charlotte Roberts did a special and Charlotte Roberts and Hi Lambeth both gave testimonies. Bro. Hi Lambeth called for an altar of prayer for a man in our church community. Thank God for answered prayer. Bro. Jack Essary was our speaker Sunday evening. He spoke from Psalm 90, teach our children to love God. He is a loving Father when we try to do His will. There is two places to live eternally, now is the time for you to make your choice. Where will you live ten million years from now? He’s still God. Jack and Peggy sang for us. We’re sorry you couldn’t be with us today. It was a good day in the house of the Lord.
Come, you’ll be welcome.
