Sorry I didn’t get any news in the paper last week. I usually write it late Sunday night and e-mail it in, and there just wasn’t much besides the birthdays and anniversaries to put in. I decided to wait until the next day and try to get it in before the deadline and then completely forgot. Well, I guess no news is good news, or that’s what I have been told.
Bob and I went to Gainesville Saturday afternoon to watch the boys play for consolation in the Gainesville Tournament. They got beat by Hartville, but we sure did enjoy watching them play. We stayed and watched the final two games, Norwood won 3rd place over Gainesville and Dora won the championship game over Seymour. All three were good games.
Bob got to visit a minute with his cousin, Michelle Harris at the ballgame. About the only time we see Michelle is at Gainesville at a ballgame. Michelle’s husband, Jack has been the assistant coach at Gainesville for several years.
While we were coming home through Rueter around 10 o’clock we got a call from our granddaughter Danielle and she wanted us to come and eat with them. They had been out gigging and was frying up a mess of suckers so we headed over there. We finally got home around midnight.
Several new babies have been born lately, the latest being Ellie Morgan Easley, daughter of Nathan and Heidi Easley arrived Jan. 8, and Layla Blair, daughter of Aaron and Sara Blair was born on Jan. 10. Both babies are absolutely adorable. Congratulations to all the families.
There was a baby shower for Keshia Mann last Saturday afternoon at Ava. I didn’t get to attend because of the ballgame but I saw a few pictures and looks like she got some cute things for the baby girl she is expecting.
I talked a little bit to Cindy Clark on facebook and she said her mom, Ada Dennis is doing well, although she has had the bug that has been going around.
I visited with my folks last Thursday afternoon and they were feeling some better. They both have had that upper respiratory bug for a few weeks now. Seems like everybody I know has had some form of that and it has been very difficult to get over.
The boys and girls will both have a basketball game Friday, Jan. 21 at Lutie, then home on Tuesday, Jan. 25 with New Covenant.
I think the Pee Wee season has probably started but I haven’t seen a schedule, so you can call the school to find out when they might play.
One last thing, our little blonde dog has gone missing again. We have penned him up numerous times and he somehow finds a way to escape. He has been gone for a couple of weeks now, but if you see him, please give us a call or send me a message on Facebook and we will come get him and try to corral him again. He just loves to travel, I guess.
Birthdays for the coming week include: Jan. 20: Riley Combs; Jan. 22: Megan Howie; Jan. 23: Ann Blair, Jason Haden, Jackie Hodges, Greg Robertson, Kelli Stafford; Jan. 24: Jonathan Blakey, LaDonna Johnson, Trinity Hunsaker, Maya Saffle; Jan. 25: Emmett Dalton, Sherry Day, Linda Wiggins; Jan. 26: Zach Hunsaker, Donna Sloan, Shirley Gott-Stoecker.
