Presiding Commissioner Larry Pueppke Thursday announced the tentative appointment of Bill Philpott of Ava as the new director of the Douglas County Emergency Management Agency (EMA).
Philpott who lives in Ava has a background in law enforcement, and recently served the community as a member of the Ava R-1 School Board.
According to Pueppke, Phillpott will be assisted in his duties by Bill Long and Richard Sturgeon.
