Sweden Church News- wk. 14

New Year’s Eve is this Friday.  Consider this your invitation to join us for our New Year’s Watch, which starts at 10 p.m. Friday and will go until…until it’s over.  Some of the ‘oldies but goodies’ don’t think they can stay awake that long.  So, napping is okay.  There are plenty of pews to choose from.
You are most certainly welcome, new faces and old faces alike.  We want to share ‘a new beginning’ and a new year for our church.  God has been moving among us lately and gently awakening us to our mission.  Praise God for that.  Come and be with us.  There will be plenty of food.  It’s a fact that no one ever goes hungry in the house of God.  Sweden Church is east of Ava on 14 about 11 miles.  CR 14-219 turns to the left.  The church is less than half a mile down that road.  The church sign is there on 14 where you turn.
Simeon is only mentioned in Luke 2:25-35 but he must have been a beloved child of God.  Why is that?  Out of all the people on the earth, God told Simeon he would see the LORD’S Christ before he died.  How is he described?  Just and devout.  Imagine God picking you out and telling you that you will see his son before you die.  Wow!
Simeon’s blessing is verses 29-32.  Jesus, as an infant, was called a light by Simeon.  And that was what the sermon was all about today.
Copies of the sermon are always available and we would love to send you a CD of it.  They are free. Call (417) 543-6219 to get a copy.  However, if you would rather just pick one up, they are available at Strong’s Watch Shop in Barnes Shopping Center, Ava.
