Smallet and Walnut Grove Church News wk. 16

Morning service was opened with the little ones doing a praise song for the congregation. They did an awesome job, thanks to their leaders.
We had a beautiful special about all of the wagon tracks being gone from around the church. Brother Roberts brought the morning message from Matthew 26: 36-41, “We say, I Know It, God says Just Do It.” Through God we can be a victor not a victim. The evening service was a message of encouragement then we had a business meeting. God is doing some very awesome things at Walnut Grove Church.
I heard that Mike Huff came through the surgery and should be getting to come home really soon.
There are several people who have been sick. We pray for their quick recovery.
Little miss Miley Hamby had ear infection but is doing better. It is worrisome for a little one to be sick as they can’t tell you where they hurt.
I made a typo last week when I put in the items about my brother and wife, Vern and Kathleen Deatherage going to their son’s for Christmas. It was Selma, Alabama, not Oklahoma. Just chalk it up to old age.
Naida Haden and Nora Edwards visited on Friday with Suanne Sutherland.
Miss Alexis Swearengin was one year old on January 6th and celebrated by having lunch at Mc Donald’s with her mommy, Miranda, grammy, Jacinda and Mema, Nora. She then enjoyed ice cream at Ava Drug followed by having her picture taken by Grammy. On Saturday, the celebration continued at her home with a snowflake theme party with a personal cake (which she enjoyed with both hands) ice cream cake, punch and pop. Enjoying the afternoon, watching her open her gifts and eating her cake were her parents, Miranda Milligan and Shawn Swearengin, brother Braxton Swearengin, grandparents, Jacinda and Toby Sheppard, Irene and Roger Swearengin, great grandparents, Bob and Nora Edwards, uncle, Shelden Walker, aunt, Kendra Walker and friends, Ryan Breshears, Stephanie Maggard and Casey Merrifield.
Having Sunday dinner with Bob and Nora Edwards were Toby and Jacinda Sheppard, Shelden and Kendra Walker and Ryan Breshears. Nora and Jacinda took dinner and birthday cake to Jerry and Suanne Sutherland for Suanne’s birthday on Sunday.
Nora Hunsaker and Lee Williams had lunch with Delmar and me on Sunday. Delmar and I visited with Gary and Bevy Moore on Saturday evening and enjoyed a snack at McDonald’s together. On Sunday, Delmar and I went to church then mamma and Lee ate lunch with us. I made a big pot of ham and beans…yummm. Later Delmar and I visited with Keith and Donna Bannister, at their home in Mansfield, MO. I had a long visit by phone with Becky Carter on Sunday evening. I also, visited with Aunt Violet Morris by phone, and she is doing pretty good, but Uncle Hugh is failing some. We are praying for a quick recovery for Joe Hamby who had hand surgery.
Until next week, stay warm and safe from the storms of life and also the storms of winter.
