Rome – wk. 14

Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center invited the families of all their residents to join their loved ones to have lunch last week. I sat with Peggy Jenkins, my sister-in-law, and two of her children and their spouses, Oliver Lee and Liz and Randy and Sue. The food was great and so was the service. I also stopped by Ethyl Posey and Mary Jones rooms, neither one of them were able to go to the table.
Dick and I visited with Helen Dobbins Wednesday. Dick shared with her some of his deer summer sausage that he and Tony whipped up. He took some of it to Norma Cross and Kenny and Seth Hunt in Ozark. We stopped there on our way to Claremore, OK. Thursday morning. We stayed with Georgia Sanders. Saturday Christmas Day we all met at Bill and Sue Johnson’s country home for our annual Christmas dinner. Bill and Sue and their four children and spouses and their children and Pete and Sandra Jenkins from Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jim and Reatha Haas from Owasso, Oklahoma, and Georgia Sanders were all there. The house was full and we ate, took pictures, played games and visited until early to late. It wasn’t as cold down there as it was here. We came home Sunday afternoon.
Kelly Thompson’s folks are visiting with them during the Christmas holidays. They are from South Illinois.
We got very little rain in the last two weeks. Hardly any snow down this way. The cold certainly did get here. It was terrible this morning. The coldest morning we have had so far.
I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I went to Tony and Lisa Richards on Christmas Day. Cody Richards and family were here along with Charlie and Arthur Hampton and Anthony Swearingin and his two children.
Christmas morning my grandson, Rustin Ryan, called. He said they had two inches of snow up there. He lives in St. Louis, MO.
Everyone have a good 2011.
