Rome News wk. 15

We got some rain out of the two storms that come our way. We are so lucky not to get a tornado like some got. Some things cannot be replaced such as pictures and many keepsakes.
Charlie Hampton and Tony Richards came by for a short visit Sunday. They went hunting for a while. Braxton spent Saturday night with Tony and Lisa.
The next day after Christmas a wedding was performed in the home of Pat and Tanji Williams. Pat and Tanji’s nephew, Michael Spyres and Tara Stafford were united in marriage. Tara is from Rogersville and Michael is from Mansfield. He is the son of Terry and Eric Spyres.
We want to wish everyone a happy new year.
This area was very fortunate that those storm clouds didn’t drop down Friday. We were in Ozark when we heard Goodhope T and O highway were in the path. We didn’t know what to expect until we came back.
We visited Peggy Jenkins in the nursing home Wednesday. She wasn’t feeling very good and I was glad to see Ethel Posey was feeling better. I guess some of the resident’s have had a bug. I hope all is better by now.
We attended a practice basketball game at Thornfield Friday evening between Plainview and Thornfield 5th and 6th graders. Their games will start this Thursday evening at Skyline.
Dick and I took our children and grandchildren out to Shoney’s in Ozark Friday morning. Danny and Beth Maloney from Sparta and their daughters Brooke Githegie and husband, McKanie and Chance and Holly Tubbs and husband, Trenton and Finley, Milo and Lila all from Springfield were all there along with Kelly and DeAnn Thompson, Kinsey, Kailey and Kyle and Jaden Hicks from Ava. I was sorry Matthew and Jason Maloney and Matt’s son, Phenox didn’t get to come but Jason’s son, Brenden and Canon were there. After breakfast time was spent visiting and taking pictures.
Bruce and Marsh Brettin from De Quion, Illinois spent a few days with the Thompsons. Marsha is Kelly’s mother.
