Question of the Week

Every week, we ask area residents a question. The question may be serious, or it may be light-hearted. We will print the answers we receive here.

For this week’s questions we asked:
Which qualities are most important to you in a mayoral candidate?

Someone who will have the people’s best interest and how the city can benefit from it. Someone who will not let decisions be based on favoritism. – Julie Ziegenhirt

They need to be a blue collar, working Joe and younger, not older. That is what we need and someone with young kids. – Jennifer Edwards

Someone who really cares about developing business in Ava so our kids have places to work when they get out of high school and they don’t have to leave. – Jim Rippee

Strong principles and character with economic understanding and unafraid to put the interests of the town over the personal interests of the city councilmen. ie; a backbone. – John Goossen

Next week’s question is: What’s your New Year’s Resolution? E-mail answers to whitney@douglascountyherald.com or call 417-683-4181.
