1-3-11. Well, we’ll never see 2010 anymore, will we? I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, a happy new year and a good 2011 all year long. My family did our Christmas early this year due to all their work schedules so that was good that we all got together again. Frank Dee said that all of his family and friends who got together (from near and far) for Christmas made it back to their homes okay, so that is good. We got a big snow for Christmas. The landlord is still here so he did a great job keeping the snow plowed, so we didn’t get snowed in, but we later got rain that melted the snow and the whole lane looked like a creek with standing water and nothing much anyone could do about that. Candi called one day and said she and Jarred were going to Iowa City and would like to stop by and see us, but we were afraid they would get stuck so we told them they better not try it. Then after that the weather turned really cold and all the water from the rain and snow froze. Some of it freeze dried so we were able to get out and go to Walt’s little great grandson’s birthday party in Silvis, Illinois. He turned the big one year old. There were at least 20 people there and I think the little thing was overwhelmed with everything going on. First we sang Happy Birthday to him and I think he didn’t know what was going on with so many people singing at him. The little thing was cutting a tooth and didn’t feel well at all and he didn’t want to do anything with his little cake. He did manage to get some of the blue frosting on his face. He got a lot of presents, but really didn’t feel like opening them or playing with them and of course, so many people taking pictures of him, especially me. After that we left there and went to Smokey’s in East Moline to meet Candi and Jarred for lunch. We hadn’t seen them for quite sometime as they are usually at work when we’re there. We had a good visit with them and a good lunch. Walt planned on treating them, but Jarred got the ticket before he could and paid it. That was really nice of him. After that we came on back home and kicked back and relaxed the rest of the day. We’re supposed to have good weather the rest of the week. It shows lots of sunshine, no snow or rain in the forecast, but low temps.
I would like to send my sympathy to Russel Evans of Blue Grass, Iowa on the loss of his sister and to the rest of her family.
We have to go to Tipton today to run some errands and do some shopping. I want to get this in the mail today, so I’ll say bye, bye for now.
