New Hope Freewill Baptist Church News – wk. 12

During Wednesday night Bible study we had a good discussion and study. We went over several topics relating to “Wielding the Christian Influence.” When I think of the word “wield” I think of holding a sword. To me having the word of God in our lives is our sword against evil.
Sunday morning services we had 16 in attendance. We started out by taking up prayer requests and then we dismissed to Sunday school. The children’s Sunday school class learned about the “Birth of Christ” and the adults studied in the 14th and 15th chapters of the book of Matthew. After Sunday school the children gathered up front to sing praises to the Lord and then had their penny march. We then joined together and sang hymns and then were blessed by a wonderful message delivered by Bro. Scott out of the first Epistle of Peter 1:13-16, “As Obedient Children.”
During evening services we had 20 in attendance. We started out our evening with prayer requests and then joined together in singing hymns. Bro. Bo and Sis. Joanna sang some specials for us and then Bro. Scott delivered the evening message from Revelation 2:1-6 “Our First Love.”
We would like to invite all to come visit us for services. Service times are Wednesday Bible study at 7 p.m. and Sunday school at 10 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m. and evening services at 7 p.m. We are also having a Christmas singing Thursday, December 23rd at 6 p.m. We want to invite all to attend. For more information call 543-3437or 543-3716.
