Mt. Tabor Church News – wk. 12

It was a typical wintry day for church on Sunday, however, it was a good day to be in God’s house. Our group was smaller than usual, due to the weather, but we had a good Sunday school lesson and church service. We have many still on the prayer list, continue to mention them each time you pray.
Brother Dennis preached from Romans 5:1-5, speaking about faith, hope and patience.
After services, we enjoyed a bountiful meal and fellowship with those who weathered the cold. We missed several who are usually with us.
Our Christmas program will be Friday night, Dec. 17, 7 p.m., everyone is welcome.
Mae Cox is still homebound following her eye surgery, trying to do “what the doctor says”. We miss her at church. Tom and Donna Nichols were her visitors and errand help, but she also spoke to most of her family, Johnny, Thetis, Sylvia, Cletis and Golda.
Bessie Hall attended the crowning of Miss and Master Merry Christmas with J.C. and Vicky, where little Lauren Hall was the winner. She is the daughter of Tim and Lindsey Hall.
Jewell Elliott visited several times with her Mom last week. Hellen Blakey visited Bessie on Sunday afternoon.
Martin Hathcock has been under the weather this past week, but is better at this writing. Gathering in the Hathcock home Sunday was Bob and Teri Hathcock, Caleb and Meghan, Jim Hathcock, Tristan and Joy Lafferty, Wes and Pat Smith. The Bob Hathcocks had been visiting Teri’s family also, in the area. Tom and Rosie Harris were visitors and Albert Elliott and Jerry Johnson stopped by to check on Martin, also.
Ronnie and Pat Lansdown were in West Plains one evening last week to attend a Christmas program where their grandchildren, Jadon and Kayley, were participants.
Paul Cox visited his mother, Myrl Cox, last Thursday. Paul also got to visit with his great-niece, Hayley Richards and baby, Garrett.
Kenneth and Carla Aborn visited in the Ronnie Lansdown home, Sunday evening.
Pat Lansdown spent one night last week in West Plains with her grandchildren, Jadon and Kayley, while their parents were attending a Christmas party.
Don and Evelyn Bryan have just returned from a weekend trip to Oklahoma, however, they received news of the untimely death of Don’s nephew, after they returned home.
We are happy to report Imogene Madewell to be doing very well, following major surgery last Friday. She came home Sunday and has had lots of calls with good wishes for her recovery and several visitors, our best to her.
MaKayla and Logan Elliott spent Friday night with Tom and Jewell Elliott. Shaun and LeAnna have visited different times this week, also, James Elliott and J.C. Hall. Glad to hear Tom is getting around a little better on his ankle.
