Mansfield Man Seriously Hurt In Crash Friday

A Mansfield man is recovering at a Springfield hospital after suffering serious injuries in a collision with a tree last Friday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that William A. Farris, 53, was traveling west on Highway 76 northeast of Ava when he ran his 1997 Dodge Ram off the right side of the road.

Farris was extricated from the vehicle by Cox Ambulance personnel who treated him at the scene. He was then airlifted to Cox South Hospital, Springfield, where he underwent emergency surgery for broken bones and internal injuries.

The 5:10 p.m. crash occurred nine miles east of Ava and was investigated by Tpr. R.D. Vaughan.
