Happy New Year to all and happy birthday on December 24 to my aunt, Rhoda Thomas, who celebrated 95 years. Her son, Ronnie said the family was getting together Christmas Day if no ice.
Christmas Day David Halcomb invited his parents, Junior and Betty Halcomb, his sister and husband, Connie and John Siler, his uncle and aunt, Rex and Shirley Halcomb and his aunt and uncle, Linda and James Orick for Christmas supper. We had a good visit and lots of good food and it was very thoughtful of him. David and Glenda have a very pretty home. We appreciate it, it meant a lot to us.
Sunday, John and Connie Siler enjoyed their family for their Christmas dinner Sunday, Brad and Amanda Evans and children, Brad and Patty Siler and Adalynn, Junior and Betty and David Halcomb. James and me visited Sunday evening to see Adalynn. She is a pretty baby and sweet as can be. She watches everything, but she had to finally go off to dream land.
Remember to pray for Cardwell Church. We had a Christmas dinner Sunday. James and me enjoyed our niece, Wendy Crossland, Hunter and Shelby. Hunter loved to sing. Several were missing as some had to work and others probably at family gatherings. We sure had good services. It’s a one-room country church with a large bell and a steeple on top. If you like a country church, come join us at Cardwell Missionary Baptist Church every Sunday at 11 a.m. We need the help and would love for you to help support it with your prayers and attendance.
Thursday Linda Orick visited Janie Morrison and Iona Maggard. We exchanged Christmas gifts. Iona was visiting with neighbors, Wayne and Rosalea and exchanged Christmas goodies. We all had a good visit just too short. They were out spreading goodies and cheer to friends.
Tiffany Hicks brought James and me some Christmas goodies. We always enjoy it. Iona said Tiffany brought her Christmas goodies and left one for Janie Morrison. While I was at Iona’s her brother, Preston Hampton called. I visited Junior and Betty Halcomb.
Sunday after church Bo and Racheal Morrison and family and Calab had George and Janie Morrison, Rhonda Stokes, Courtney Sanders and children, Leslie Correll, Dale Hampton and Wyatt, Jean Loomis, and Jenny Tindle. All enjoyed their Christmas dinner together and later came to George and Janie’s and exchanged gifts.
Marvin Hampton, Jolly and Levi Johnson visited.
Chris and Christy Lakey enjoyed their family for Christmas Day and later went to their Aunt Violet Lakey’s house.
Dennis and Jenny Downs and Jordan had Christmas dinner at his aunts.
Sybil Harvill enjoyed Christmas dinner at Gary and Sandra Harvill’s with her children and grandchildren.
My sympathy sent to the Zora Fitzgerald family. She and my mom were cousins and she was a very nice lady.
I heard Wanda Fern (Thompson) Maggard was ill. Get-well wishes sent her way.
Randy Lea called and please, remember him in your prayers.
Pray 2011 will be a good year. Pray it is better for the troops and our country will get better. People need to be more humble and serve God.
