Gentry Church wk. 15

Doug Miller opened our Sunday morning service with prayer.
After congregational singing, our Sunday school lesson was “I Am Your Redeemer.” Our Redeemer sets us free from our sins, He created us and when we sin, God does not rest until He wins us back and fellowship is restored.
Special song for the morning was by our Wednesday night singers. Keep in remembrance the many prayer requests given. Prayer is powerful.
We were so happy to have our visitors with us, Michael Miller, who is stationed in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and Dylan Chaney and Misty.
Pastor Riley Hall brought the message from Hebrews 12:1-4. This coming new year, let us run with patience the race that is set before us, we are in a battle, but greater is He that in us, than in the world. Angels are watching over us and fighting our battle for us. Lay down every sin you have if you are hindered for not serving God as you should. Let us look to Jesus for He is the author and finisher of our faith.
Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. during the month of January, we are showing a video series called “The Tour Of Jerusalem.” It will be very interesting and everyone is invited to join us, our church is located on “K” Highway, off West 14.
Happy wedding anniversary wishes go out to Matt and Heather Welker.
Sunday night, January 9, we are to meet at the church at 5 p.m. and discuss our ideas for activities for the year of 2011, we are open to new ideas and things, so please come with new expectations.
Sunday evening message from Bro. Hall was taken from Matthew 7:12-29 and Ezekiel 33:30-32. In our lives we have to build a Christian character and firm foundation, in the scriptures we find two builders, one followed the right plan and built on solid ground and it lasted. The other built on the sand, unstable ground and wind and the rain washed it away. In building the foundations, it has to be built on Jesus Christ.
Our invitation is always open at Gentry, Sunday school at 10 a.m., night service at 6 p.m., Wednesday night Bible study at 7 p.m. May God bless.
