It’s a beautiful, sunny, white day today as I write this. Most schools were closed because of this snow today and we didn’t quilt today, just a little too cold we thought.
I guess the flu is going around, both my granddaughters were sick Sunday and Monday. I haven’t called them today.
We had a very good service Sunday. Bro. Benny and Loretta Dewitt were with us again. Bro. Dewitt’s message was titled “Faith Rock”. His scripture was from Amos 3, Hebrews 6:4, Hebrews 11:16-19 and 23 and Matthew 16:15-19. We were glad to have them to lead us in singing and the sermon. We had some special singing also from Sis. Loretta and Ariel Conrad and Sunday night. Sis. Lena was with us and sang two songs. Our piano player, Carlene, couldn’t be with us because of a fall she had taken, but sent me a turkey to cook for our Sunday dinner. I appreciate it. We had a wonderful dinner celebrating birthdays and also Christmas dinner we had missed. Sis. Wanda Ray cooked the ham and everyone else just outdone themselves on preparing a wonderful dinner. The Dewitts had brought guests and we had other guests who came for dinner.
I forgot to say a happy birthday to Sis. Glenda Miller who had a birthday and our daughter, Sherry Wallace is having one on the 13th, so happy birthday to you both. Our prayers are with the family of Bro. Vernon Hartgraves, who passed away and especially for his wife, Deidra, and his children.
Sis. Norma is back in the nursing home at Mtn. Grove. She had to go to the hospital a couple of days and we hope she is doing better, also, Sis. Marie isn’t doing very well. She needs our prayers.
Tomorrow the 12th we will be taking cakes for birthdays to the nursing home for January. We appreciate Sis. Barbara, Betty, Shirley, Wanda and Evelina for cakes. May God bless each one that is there and those having birthdays.
Bro. Bob Fleetwood did an excellent job teaching from II Chronicles 28 and some in the 29 and 30 chapters of II Chronicles on spiritual renewal.
Sis. Betty Hesterlee and Sis. Loretta Dewitt both spoke Sunday night and we enjoyed the service very much. We appreciate both of them very much. Psalms 86:5 “For thou Lord, art good and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer and attend to the voice of my supplication. In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee; for thou will answer me.”
