Another year is coming to the end and a new year is beginning. Through the years I have tried to think of cute sayings to put in cards that I send, like have a great 2008. May 2009 be mighty fine. Now in 2010 I didn’t do that. This year I didn’t even get cards sent, so my thought for the new year is may the new year of 2011 be a time of great praise for the one who made us a way to heaven.
Roger said the crowd was down for church Sunday. I’m sure a lot of people were out sick and maybe some still celebrating Christmas. Tracy Nelson taught my class. Tammy Gunter played the piano. Sunday night Darrell Gunter brought the message. We still have several on our prayer list, so pray for them.
Roger and I celebrated Christmas several times. Thursday night we cooked supper for our family – Dustin, Tina, Courtney, Rilee and Logan and Shawn, Miranda, Braxton and Alexis.
The kids must have been good because they got lots of presents. Christmas Eve we went up to my brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Phyllis’ house. Christmas Day we went up and visited with my mother, Willene and my brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Angie.
It’s nice to have time to slow down for a few days and enjoy time with family.
A wise man (James) told me that whatever you do the first day of the new year, you will do the rest of the year. So make sure you say a prayer and talk with God and tell someone you love them and smile a lot on this first day of 2011.
