Eastern Gate and Around the Mountain – wk. 13

Do you remember the words in the song about checking your list? Well, someone asked me if I was ready for Christmas and that was my answer. I told them I was getting things checked off my list and I was almost ready. My gifts are wrapped and under the tree. (check). I have been to see my grandchildren in their church program (check) and their school program (check). Our church program is over (check). As I was checking off my list I thought we need to make sure we include Jesus in each and every project, don’t check Him off your list and just forget about Him. We need to keep Jesus in our hearts and lives every hour and every day of the year! He is one gift that you can receive that never wears out.
Our church program was very good. Two short plays were put on and both were based on the nativity theme. I was very proud of al the youth of our church for their performances.
There were lots of presents and gifts exchanged. Esther gave Roger and I some wonderful candy. Donald said he received some great gifts. He said he thought people were trying to sweeten him up. Santa even left Roger a great present under the tree at church. I had a tough time convincing Roger that the gift was really for him. Maybe he was bad and he didn’t think he deserved a gift. Well, he tricked somebody because he received a very nice present! Thank you very much!
My wish for you this Christmas is for you to truly know the blessings that God has for you with the gift he gave for you some 2,000 years ago with the birth of His son, Jesus. May you share this love with family and friends.
God bless you all.
