Last Week’s News - Wed. evening Bible study was led by Steve about “Partitioning God.” He used Matthew 7:7-11, James 4:1-3, 1 Kings 3:5-9, Psalms 2: 1-12, Matt. 6:5-8 and James 5:16.
The Church ladies had their annual Christmas party Saturday at the church. The devotion was led by Bevy Moore about the “Names of Jesus” They are to be respected, not to be used in euphumisms, such as: Golly, Gosh, Jeez, etc. They bring the Diety of Jesus down to earth level where it should not be. Check their meanings out in the dictionary or on dictionary.com. Gifts were exchanged and new Secret Sister names were drawn, then a good lunch afterwards.
Sunday morning we had 36 in attendance. Norma Jones opened the service reading Job 15:2-14. Linda Roberts led the Sunday school class with Jeremiah 30:11-24.
Betty Hale gave her testimony then Pastor Gary brought the morning message about “One Accord” using St. John 3:36 and Acts 1:9-14.
Sunday evening special singing was by Emma Wilkerson, Linda Roberts and Bevy Moore. Pastor Gary brought the evening message about “The Whole Armour of God” using Isaiah 59:2 and Eph. 6:10-17.
This Weeks News - Wed. evening Bible study was led by Steve Wilkerson about “Interceding Prayer.” Scriptures used were Romans 8:34, Col. 1:25, Matt. 19:19, Isaiah 53:12, Luke 23:34, Sam. 12:23, Matt. 5:44 and Eph. 6:18
The Teen class studied the “Roll of the Woman” using II Tim. 2.
Sunday morning we had 26 in attendance. Linda Roberts led Sunday school class from Jer. 30:18, 31:1-31 and Zach. 14:10.
Special singing was by Emma Wilkerson, Linda Roberts, Pastor Gary and Bevy Moore.
Pastor Gary brought the morning message from Psalms 27:1-14 and 42:1-2. Saying we should have an urgency to serve God every day not just when we have a crisis. Special singing was by Linda Roberts and Lena Hutchison.
Pastor Gary brought the evening message from Luke 1:5-41, “A Time of Miracles.” We had a wonderful moving of the Holy Spirit and altar service.
Special prayer requests go out for Jimmy Lee, Kenneth Lee, Marvin Graham, Netta Hicks, Bill and Bonnie Bolding, Tom Johnson, Jenny Hale, Lula Everett, Pam Freeman, Goldie Sutherland family, Wanda Cox, Bobby Splain, military, Mary Alice Emerson family, and the new converts.
