Caney Church News – wk. 13

December 12 – Caney Baptist came together for Sunday school singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone and prayer requests were received. Sis. Charlotte Roberts led in prayer. We are a praying church. We have seen many prayers answered. We thank God for them. Jack read I John 4:13-19 for our devotion.
After Sunday school happy birthday was sung to Jenna Mills. Happy anniversary to Jack and Peggy Essary and Hi and Doris Lambeth. God bless them all.
Our little ones sang for us led by Sis. Tracy Shipley. They are a blessing and a delight to our church. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley, Melba Austin, Peggy Essary and Charlotte Roberts.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Special music was performed by our youth and Melissa Harmon.
Pastor Bill brought the morning message from Ephesians 3, main verse 12.
We can have boldness and confidence in our faith in Christ. We can gain strength in the inner man through Christ because of the love Christ has for each of us. We need to bow before God in thanks.
This was a special Sunday at Caney. We had a good fellowship dinner. Afterwards the youth went to Ava and bought gifts for those that need a little help. We are trying to teach them the joy of giving and that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
Sunday evening service was cancelled so the church could attend other Christmas programs.
December 19 – Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone and prayer requests were received. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Jack read John 4:19-26 for our devotion. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley and Charlotte Roberts.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Those singing specials this Sunday were Laurena Mitchell and Melissa Harmon.
Pastor Bill Austin spoke this Sunday from Matthew 2:1-6 and Luke 11:1-9. Christ didn’t stay a baby in the manger. At twelve years He told His parents He was doing His Father’s business. It’s the midnight hour we need to learn to pray, be sincere, thankful, repent and believe. This was a real thought provoking message.
Our church went to the Bradleyville Baptist Christmas program. It was very good.
