This sunshine looks and feels good this Monday afternoon. It is shining in my south windows, but with a chill outside.
Sunday morning at Seminole, we begin the New Year with the challenge of being “Fit For Life!” This series of messages will challenge us to examine our lives as we enter 2011 and let us serve God with a big faith.
Pastor Don also challenged us to start B90x Bible Reading Program that provides a guide to read through the New Testament four times this year in 2011.
There is not much news that I have heard about since Christmas time. I have been staying close to home during this cold weather. I get out to church service and auxiliary at St. John’s two times a week and to shop some.
Skip and Billie were to fly home to Fort Meyers Saturday after a two weeks stay at their Portland, Oregon home. Samantha was also there for a few days at Christmas time. Billy’s family is all there and all enjoyed the holidays.
It is good to see Louise Wood back in church and getting along.
Earl Klingensmith was in church without Freda Sunday morning. Freda will be having some surgery on her knee Thursday. They are formerly of Mtn. Grove.
I had a phone visit with Lorene Johnston today. She is happy and well.
We are thankful the tornado passed us here in southeast Springfield Friday morning. My heart goes out to all those who lost their homes and some with their lives. Lots of lives were saved by God’s miracle.
The secret of contentment is the realization that life is a gift not a right.
