Joe Lafferty opened Sunday school by reading the seventh chapter of Psalms. Clara Lafferty prayed the opening prayer.
Lee Hampton taught the adult class in Mark the first chapter. We had very few in Sunday school, but had about 30 before the 11 o’clock service. There is still a big number of our congregation has that viruses that have been going around that seems like forever. We had questions from the Bible asked for next Sunday.
Joe Lafferty led the offering prayer and we had congregational singing.
Jared Lafferty had his 17th birthday offering and we sang happy birthday to him.
David Lafferty played “Silent Night” before Joe Lafferty took the podium to preach at the 11 o’clock service. He preached from St. John 8:8-32, “ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” In the 12th verse He said, “I am the light of the world, he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of the life.”
The Invitational was given by singing.
Lee Hampton dismissed the service and asked the blessing on the food. After lunch we had our Christmas program at 2 o’clock. The church was full for the program. The children did a real good job and Angel Haden was the director. Everybody was proud of the program and enjoyed it very much.
We also had a good dinner. We have some good cooks at Breedon. Everyone is always welcome to join us at Breedon. We could love to have you.
I hope everyone has a good Christmas and a better New Year. Until next week.
