Black Oak Church News – wk. 12

“And she brought forth her first-born Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger,” Luke 2:7.
Christmas was definitely in the air at Black Oak on Sunday. We had our Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner followed by our program at 2:00. The message was good and the children performed as most small children do.
Brother Roy read the devotion after the singing then we went to our classes.
Please remember our prayer list when you pray. Our little Mary (Jacki) was sick so could not be in the play, her daddy, Kerry, stayed home with her. Megan filled in for her. Also remember Gene and Rheba Pool, Betty and family, Glen and Louise, Joe Lafferty, churches, country, unsaved, unspoken, bereaved and the military.
Sister Shirley took up the offering and Hunter and Preston Adams did the penny march for Camp Piland.
Hunter sang a special for us. Pastor David sang and then preached from Matthew 1:18-25. What does Christmas mean to you? A Christian knows it means everything, the birth of our Savior. We need to make room for Him in our lives and take time to worship Him. The most important is to spread the news to others. Everyone is searching for Jesus. They try to fill the void in their lives with other things, but Christ is the only way to find peace and contentment.
We were so thankful for our visitors.
Congratulations to Chris and Rita Bailey who were married at Black Oak Church on Saturday. We pray God blesses them with many years together.
Remember Bible study Wednesdays at 6:00. May God bless you all.
