Some of the young folks at Bethany Baptist Church ate pizza and played games on New Year’s Eve.
Sunday, January 9 Kent and Lindsey Mebay and their four children will be guests at Bethany Baptist Church. They are church planters to Phoenix, Arizona. There will be lunch in the fellowship hall after the morning service and an early afternoon service after lunch. There will be no evening service.
Dan Stillings sang a special song in the morning service. The Jubilee Singers sang in the evening service. Pastor Bob Sorensen brought a message he called, “Start Fresh In 2011.”
Some people may start the New Year with regrets for failures in the past year, but what’s past is past. We can’t go back to do it over. We can’t change the past, but we can forgive and we can heal. There is a way to start again.
Genesis 2:2 says that on the seventh day, God rested. He had finished the work. Let God begin and finish a work in our lives this New Year. Today is a good day to start over.
