Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold a blood drive Thursday, Jan. 20, at Ava Victory Academy, 1005 NW 12th Ave., in Ava.
The blood drive will be conducted from 1:30 to 6 p.m.
CBCO recently issued a Code Yellow Alert for Type O Negative and A Negative blood, meaning there was less than a two-day supply of these blood types on hospital shelves.
It takes 275 donations every day to meet the needs of the 37 area hospitals that use CBCO products. On the other hand, a single blood donation can save the lives of up to three people.
To donate blood, you must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health. Personal identification will be required at the blood site.
