Ava Lions Club News

The Lions did not meet the weeks of Christmas and New Years, but met for their first regular meeting of the new year this past Monday evening. Several items were discussed, such as the plans for their walk/run. The walk/run will be held on the second Saturday of May, as last year’s. There will be more information on the walk/run in the near future. The Lions want to remind everyone of Hobo Days to be held next Saturday, Jan. 15, at Hollister.

The Leo’s club, for young people, from ages 12 to 24, will have their first meeting Saturday, the 15th at 10 a.m. They have many activities and fundraisers planned. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting to find out what the Leo’s are all about. For more information on the Leo’s, contact Cleta Sweeney at 265-3504.

Aislinn Bates-Crouch brought her friend, Missy David, to the Lion’s meeting. They are both members of the newly formed Leo’s club.

The Lion’s president, Larry Morrison,  presented Ruby and Verl Warren with a bonus at Monday evening’s meeting, to show they appreciate their dedication and hard work.  Ruby and Verl cook the delicious meals for the Lions every Monday evening.
