There were several people out for last week’s meeting, but we did meet as scheduled for our first meeting of the new year. We discussed fundraising ideas as well as several upcoming events that are on our calendar.
There were two Terrific Kids presentations scheduled for Monday Jan. 10 which were completed. We weren’t sure with the weather coming in if they were going to happen or not. One at Ava Victory Academy at 10 a.m. and the other at Ava Elementary at 2:30 p.m.
Some of our members planned to attend the Chamber Luncheon on Tuesday, however the weather may have played a part in that as well.

Jan. 24 Terrific Kids at Skyline at 10 a.m.; Plainview at 2 p.m.
Jan. 27 Citizen of the Month Luncheon. Citizens from December and January will be recognized as weather canceled school when December citizens were to meet with us. We look forward to that day.
Looking ahead, Mid Winter Convention is scheduled for Feb. 25-27 in Springfield. An “Early Bird” deadline for room reservations as well as convention registration is Feb. 5. Members can go online to register or contact Donna Dixon by phone or email.
