Arno News – wk. 12

Debbie Cederlind came to Ava Friday night and stayed with her mother, Bonnie Phipps. Saturday Debbie, Bonnie and Cecilia went over and parked Debbie’s jeep and watched the Christmas parade from the jeep where they were warm and cozy. Debbie went home Saturday night.
Carol Moore came by last Monday and picked me up and then we went on over and got Marie Dickey and we went to our O.E.S. meeting in Ava. We initiated Richard Baker into our Chapter that night.
I went over to the lodge hall basement and helped them set it up for Mary Martha Williams reception on Thursday evening. Mary Martha was appointed to Grand Chaplain for this year so that is what the reception was for and there was 98 present that included the musician and the boy scout who presented the American flag.
I received one-tenths of an inch of rain in my gage Saturday morning when it quit raining.
Lakota came and stayed with me Saturday morning until Kendra came and picked her up at noon. Lakota had a bad cold so I hope she is better now.
Sunday was a snowy cold morning to get out and go to church, but I made it with my food because we had our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner after church was over. There was lots of plate made and sent out to all that wasn’t there.
I took some food up to Bessie, but I didn’t stay too long because I had to get home and get ready to go to Springfield for the night. Monica and Joel came by and got me then Sunday when I got home I was told that Mary Alice Emerson had passed away that morning. Her funeral will be Friday at ten o’clock at Clinkingbeard, then someone said that Goldie Sutherland’s card was in the window down town. Her funeral will be at two o’clock Friday at Clinkingbeard.
My sympathy goes out to both of those families and all the other ones who have lost a loved one.
Lets keep all our sick folk in our prayers because they all still need them.
Keep our leaders and the men and women in the service and their families and the ones in training in your prayers. Lets give an extra prayer for all the men and women in the service that will be away from their loved ones this time of year.
