Last Weeks News – Sunday morning we woke up to a heavy frost then headed to church where the service was opened with prayer requests then prayer and praise while welcoming everyone. The morning special was beautifully done by Venita Brummet, accompanied by her husband, Randy Brummet. Brother Roberts brought the morning message from Psalm 4:1-8, “Stress Relief.” Two young people were saved in the morning service.
The evening service was opened with congregational hymns then prayer and testimonies of praise from several people.
We are saddened in the loss of a good friend, Joe Breshears, he fought a good fight and now he is gone home to be with his Savior.
Jack, Barb and Miracle Breshears made a trip to Arkansas on Friday and came home Sunday. They had the pleasure of visiting with their son and his wife, Preston and Tabitha Breshears and their kids, also, a granddaughter, Tara Santiago and her new baby, Alexis Santiago. They had only seen pictures of Alexis so, were happy to get to spoil her a little.
I heard that my brother, Vern and Kathleen Deatherage were deer hunting and got a deer. I hope to get a burger out of that.
Delmar and I met Uncle Mack Miller and Bob and Linda McCleary at Mc Donald’s and had a snack while visiting.
Delmar and I went to visit Uncle Mack Miller one evening and I took him some homemade potato soup for his supper.
Joe and Mike Hamby made a trip to North Missouri and did some deer hunting while there. I talked to Mike today and he said they got their deer.
I visited awhile with Stacie, Mahayla and Miley Hamby on Monday.
Remember to Reach Out to Jesus, He’s Reaching Out to You.
This Weeks News – Sunday morning service was all about giving thanks for every good thing.
Brother Roberts brought the morning message from Luke 17:11-19.
The evening service was from Psalm 103, “Give Thanks.”
On Wednesday evening, the youth all practiced the Christmas program.
The program by the ages 3-10 will be at 11:00 A.M. on December 5th. The program by the teens will be at 11.00 A.M. on December 12th.
We need to be in prayer for Mike Hamby who will be having surgery on his hand on Wednesday. Several were out of service today due to illness.
Visiting at various times during the week in the home of Bob and Nora Edwards were Toby and Jacinda Sheppard, Kendra Walker, Dallee Sheppard, Jessica Fratti and Alexis Swearengin.
On Thursday Joyce Erickson, Mary Mackey, Maxine Lund, Nora Edwards and Margaret Rosseau enjoyed a trip to Dawt Mill where we all had a really delicious lunch. We ordered different things and shared to taste it all. We were so full that we ordered one dessert and shared it too.
On Saturday, Bevy Moore and I drove to Nixa and joined Becky Carter for a trip to Springfield for an afternoon and evening of fun and shopping. Donna Bannister was sick so didn’t get to join us. We missed you Donna, hope you are feeling better by now.
I heard of several family members and neighbors who got their deer. They will have some good meat for this winter.
Remember, in this time of Thanksgiving season, to be generous with what you have to the ones who have not.
We are truly a blest people. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
