On Monday, December 6, Pastor Neal and Rick Crum along with Jerry Pitts and a friend traveled to Jackson, Missouri to get the pews for our new sanctuary. The carpet is all laid so now we lack doors and trim. Van Menzies and Danny Johnson have been working on the lighting. Praise the Lord, we are gaining.
We had more to pray with us at 9:30 as we came together on our Lord’s Day. Prayer requests shared were for the family of Chris Waller, who was a teammate of Aaron Dalton’s and roommate of Adam Cook at College of the Ozarks; Gerald Linder; Becky, Elane Crum’s cousin; the Thompson family; Fay Humbyrd; the names in our book on the altar. Sonya Hodges prayed this prayer.
Happy birthday was sung to Seth Dobbs and Avery Hendricks. Seth is the son of Rhonda Dobbs and grandson of Danny and Connie Johnson. Avery is the son of Dawnya McFarland and the great-grandson of Chloe Wilson. He is the fourth generation of Wilson’s in our church family.
Brad Siler prayed the offertory prayer as he and Stan Humbyrd, our deacons, received our Lord’s tithes and offerings.
Pastor Neal said it is feeling a lot like winter outside. If all goes as planned, this will be our last service in this sanctuary. Next Sunday, it will be our fellowship hall in which we will have our Annual Community Christmas Dinner at 4 p.m. Testimonies were shared. Aaron Humbyrd reported from Kent and Darla Day a thanks for our prayers for their son, Sam, who is recovering very well from a stroke. God is still in the miracle-working business. They are giving Him the praise and glory. Pastor Neal prayed and read from Luke 1 and Malachi 3. “Let us remember Jesus is the reason for the season”. Christmas is about a baby boy. Luke writes with a perfect understanding from above. “That thou mightiest know the certainty of those things wherein thou has been instructed”. Aaron Humbyrd dismissed our service in prayer.
Food Harvest items were collected for the Heart of the Hills Food Harvest and Thrift Store. After Church, a group traveled to Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center. Our Children’s mission group made up of Ashton and Erin Crum, Andrew and Isaac Dalton, Casey Dobbs, Jaylan Wilson and Makinna Humbyrd sang and gave fruits and candy to the residents. The adults included Juanita Menzies, Shannon Wilson and Dawnya Wilson. Kendra, Jim and Colton Harris had baked cookies, which they shared. They reported a great time.
At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal prayed and read again from Luke 1 and shared about Zacharias in the temple at the time of the angel coming to him to announce the birth of his son, John. He shared a list of Psalms which were songs sang in the temple.
7 p.m. Tuesdays is special prayer meeting and 7 p.m. Wednesdays is Bible study. Come and be with us. You are welcome.
