And all at once, the Christmas season is upon us. I guess I have heard it on television so much that I didn’t realize it was actually this close. And so I forgot to tell everyone that the club Christmas party will be held at the Squires Firehouse on Saturday night the 11th at 6 p.m. All are welcome to join us there with a covered dish or two for potluck and a visit from Santa Claus. If you wish, please bring a gift for the gift exchange, also a craft or something for auction. I’m sorry I forgot and had to be reminded so that I could remind you. It’s always the 2nd Saturday of December from 6 until late.
And I must be more careful to write my sentences with more clarity and to use the period and comma as I was taught to do. After reading my items of last week, I came to this conclusion – that parts of what I wrote didn’t sound right. And so I will correct my mistakes. I received a Christmas card from Hildred. And I meant to say all my family was together for Thanksgiving except Donna, Jessi, Ruby Lee, J.J. and Natasha. They were missed very much. The last part of my items were just carelessly written and I didn’t proof read before mailing. I’m sorry.
We are very appreciative of the efforts of all concerned with having the Christmas program this year. Remember it is December 19th at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome and there will be a fellowship dinner afterwards.
Kasey and Karen came by at different times through the week and Ruth brought my mail up. Reggie came one morning with a package.
My sister, Jo and brother-in-law, Newt Delp had their family for a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner. Delmar had to work. There’s always some who can’t make it and they are missed. Things are not simple anymore.
I remember, with longing, the “Granny” parties in Mom’s little trailer and the whole family crowded in. I remember how much we enjoyed being together and how much she enjoyed having us there. We can’t go back in time except through memories, but we can make the most of the time we have now with one another. It goes by way too fast.
So I am most thankful to be given another holiday season with family and friends. I will cherish every moment of it and every night as I spend time in prayer. I will remember past family times and give thanks for all the good times God has given me.
Good night friends!
