Little Creek

It’s shaping up to be a beautiful fall Saturday in the Ozarks.
Kevin and Mark came by yesterday with deer tenderloin and ground venison. I am very appreciative. If there’s one thing I miss, it’s venison.
Yes the woods and hills have been alive with the sounds of gunfire, as most hunters here abouts have had very good luck. Joseph and Devin, our young hunters are hoping to score this weekend.
I had lunch with Vonda Tuesday. She has been sick for a couple of weeks or so and covets our prayers. She has an appointment in Springfield for breathing tests and more, but she can’t get into the doctor until December. Vonda has coughed until she is weak and sore. She has lots of will power to keep working.
Ruth came and cleaned my stove then visited while working on my puzzle.
By the way, I like my wood pellet stove very much. Compared to the wood stove it has so many advantages. Not nearly the mess plus so easy to operate. I can pretty much operate it. They bring the big vac and clean it once in a while and empty a bag of pellets into my pretty black tub so I keep the pellet holder filled up with the use of a coffee can. Maybe the best part is how pretty the flames are through the glass door. We clean the glass daily and it is comparable to a fireplace. The only down side is the initial cost of the stove. I just thought I would let my friends know and tell them to drop in some evening and enjoy my cozy stove with me.
Jean picked me up for the wedding of Chris and Alicia at the Foil Store building. It was good to be inside Ervin’s store once again. Lorene and I sat together and reminisced of those days with Rocky, Jamie and others. I heard several people comment on how Ervin was always smiling and humming and was even good humored when those kids would show up at his door after hours. Ervin would always open up for them to buy candy and pop.
The wedding was beautiful. Everyone agreed what a beautiful couple they are and wish all God’s blessings in their life together.
I enjoyed visiting with Yvonne’s grandmother, Eunice. She is a beautiful amazing lady and lady is the right word for women like her. I always thought of my mother as a lady also. Not all people attain that status.
Club day Wednesday found us together in accord and our minds set on getting a days work done. We always miss and talk of Norma who is doing real well in the rest home. Barb and Ruth were not present either and Ruby and Carl no longer are regular attendees.
Charlie visited on Friday and that’s about all the visitors I’ve had this week.
I must get this to the box so as to be included since Thanksgiving will make the paper come early.
I hope everyone has a happy family oriented Thanksgiving.
Until next week, happy eating and happy after eating.
