Gentry Church News

Opening prayer to start our Sunday morning service was given by our superintendent, Rod Welker.
Our Sunday school lesson was “God Is All Knowing”. He created us so He knows everything about us. If we truly want to know ourselves we will seek to know God and His word and remain open to the spirit of God in all things.
Our special song was by our Wednesday night singing group. Some attended and enjoyed the Fourth Sunday afternoon Singing at Faith Rock Church. There will be no Fourth Sunday Singing for the month of December, but will resume in January if weather permitting at Gentry Church, January 23 at 2 p.m.
Saturday, December 4 at 6 p.m. is our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner at Gentry Church. Bring a covered dish.
Pastor Riley Hall brought his morning message from Isaiah 40:3-11, and Mark 1:1-8, back in Isaiah the prophet told about a man who would come as a forerunner for our Savior Jesus Christ and in chapter one of Mark we find John the Baptist preaching and baptizing in the water of Jordan River, but your coming Savior shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
As Christmas season is upon us, let us remember and worship the beauty of the Christ child whom John told us about, that was born in a manager, He is our almighty God, we are reminded to forgive, trust in God, and give Him our all. Let us not forget what Christmas is all about.
Sunday evening service was opened by Narvil Tetrick.
Special songs were by quartet – Faye Allen, Wendell Deo, Narvil Tetrick and Wanda Casady. Good testimonies were given and numerous prayer requests offered.
Bro. Riley’s message was from Psalms 136 and II Chronicles, chapter 6. No matter what happens, nothing can stop us, “His mercy endureth forever”. King Solomon’s prayer in II Chronicles chapter 6 is such a humble prayer and we can ask God to hear our prayers and forgive our sins, in troubled times of no rain, enemies, pestilence, grief and everything, God’s mercy edureth forever.
May God bless and keep you.
